Lakota East HS Seeking Girls Head JV Coach

The Lakota East High Women’s Lacrosse club, Liberty Township Ohio, is seeking a Junior Varsity Head Coach and a Junior Varsity Assistant Coach. Potential candidate(s) should have a strong knowledge of, and passion for the game, and ideally will have college playing experience and some previous lacrosse coaching experience, preferably at the high school level. Other applicants will be considered.

  • Understanding and following the rules set forth by the OSLA, OHSAA, and the Lakota East High Women’s Lacrosse Club.
  • Maintain and stay current with regard to US Lacrosse membership, US Lacrosse CEP certification, background checks and CPR certification as well as Concussion Awareness certification. (Costs for certifications will be covered by Lakota East High Women’s Lacrosse Club. )  
  • Works with the Lakota East High Women’s Lacrosse GMs & Varsity Head Coach in organizing and implementing off season development programs and clinics, which will help build a strong, well respected lacrosse program.
  • Frequently communicate with varsity staff
  • Be a highly motivated individual, with a passion and commitment for coaching, teaching and leading young women in the game of lacrosse. Leads by example in developing and maintaining a well-disciplined team that competes hard while respecting teammates, opponents, fans and officials.  
  • Commitment to plan, organize and lead practices in a manner that leads to a well prepared and motivated team on game days.
  • Communicate expectations to parents and players. (For example, if a child does not attend all practices during a week, he/she does not start the game.)
  • Prepare practice plans in advance of practice. This should include which coach is in charge of a skill/station and the equipment required. It should also include a rough time estimate of how long a station or drill will take place.
  • Share practice plans with assistant coaches prior to practice so that everyone arrives at the field prepared.
  • Attend all practices and games to the best of your ability.
  • Arrange for practice/game coverage if you are unable to attend.
  • Start and end practices on time. (This means you show up at the field 15 minutes prior to the start of practice.)
  • Adhere to the Lakota East High School Women’s Lacrosse GM requirements and recommendations.
  • Attend all required coaches’ meeting(s).
  • You and other designated coach are always the last to leave the field.
  • Ensure that you, assistant coaches, and parents understand and practice LEHS code of conduct.
  • Complete necessary forms and obligations before start of first practice.
  • Submit equipment requests to varsity staff and General Managers
  • Notify coaches’ General Managers of cancelled home games and when/if you would like to reschedule them.
  • Above all else, ensure that you are providing a safe, fun, and educational environment for all players.
  • Ensure that there are always two coaches at the field.
  • Salary: Commensurate with experience.
